A look at the stats: 19 months on the road! 1   Recently updated !

August 2016: Oh I’m so far behind on my blogging! I have been working a few more hours and, since June 1 we’ve been staying with family, doing chores for them and doing quite a bit of work on the RV. So I promise I’ll get a travel blog out before too long.

The end of July has just slipped by us and I can’t believe how the year has flown. We are still loving our life on the road and, as summer heat pushes much of the country into triple digits, our ability to follow the cooler weather. We have also enjoyed the slower pace this year. We knew that going to Alaska in 2015 would be an epic year, so our 2016 stats reflect a much more realistic mode of travel. In fact, we have cut our miles driven by more than half! In the first 7 months of 2015 we had driven 8,482.91 miles in the RV. For the same period in 2016, we have only driven 4,067.2. As promised, I also have improved cost accounting for all of you wanting to know just what the costs of full-timing might be. Thanks to spending much of the year out west and being able to boondock, we have only paid for camping a total of 49 nights so far this year! Talk about a cost savings.

Also, as promised, improved route maps! If you’d like an interactive map of our 2016 travels that will let you zoom in on our campsites, please click here. There is also a static image of the route map below.

Hope to see you out here!

TOTAL MILES DRIVEN in the JEEP:
                                                                     2016: 10,014

                                                                     2016 MPG avg, JEEP:  20.71
We have put a LOT of off-road miles on the Jeep since installing our suspension lift, skid plating and larger tires. We have had so much fun and don’t regret a thing but, sadly, all those factors have lowered our overall mileage by nearly 5MPG. Ah well!

Love you guys. Glad you are still loving life on the road! Never would have thought about putting Utah on a bucket list! I’ll have to check that out. Nathan and Jag enjoyed hearing that you jacked up the Jeep. Lol! Anything jacked up is automatically cool to Nathan. 😉. Great to hear from you. Love you lots!!
